Spirit of Christmas

The spirit of Christmas is a feeling of goodwill, benevolence, and a willingness to celebrate others, forgive, and to be more Christ-like.

Santa Claus, St. Nicholas and the myriad of other names is a persona of the spirit of Christmas, yet the true persona is Jesus Christ himself, hence the name of the season of Christmas.

However, while not all religions recognize Christ the same way, Christians accept and respect all faiths.

Christmas is a time for all people to come together and show their love and respect for each other through acceptance and forgiveness.

The Christmas season is a very difficult time for many.  It comes at the heart of winter when it is cold; food, money, and shelter may be hard to come by for many.

This is why it has become a season of giving, sharing, and love.  These are the teachings of Jesus, and shared by Saint Nicholas.  This is why Santa Claus is so important. To teach children to be kind and help others.

This is the Spirit of Christmas.
